Haryana Government announced lifetime monthly pension of INR 10000 for all Hindi Satyagrahis means people who fought for India's freedom.

The Union Cabinet committee on Economic Affairs extended the term of Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana by 3 years till 2020. This committee is chaired by Prime Minister.

The Pension Fund Regulatory Development authority PFRDA increased the maximum age of joining National Pension System from 60 years to 65 years.

Goa topped the Gender Vulnerability Index followed by Kerala and then Mizoram. This report is compiled by Child Development NGO Plan India. Bihar got the bottom rank in this index.

Kenneth Juster was confirmed as next US ambassador to India succeeding Richard Verma. Richard was first Indian American to held this post. Richard resigned on 20th January 2017.

India Hockey Women Team won Asia Cup defeating China. This is our 2nd Women Asia Cup. First Asia Cup, we won in 2004. By winning this India also qualifies for Hockey World cup as Continental champion.

Manushi Chhillar won the Miss World 2017 pageant at Sanya, China. She is from  Haryana. Till now Indian has won 6 Miss World Titles. Other winners are Priyanka Chopra 2000, Yukta Mookhey 1999, Diana Hayden 1997, Aishwarya Rai 1994 and the first Indian winner Reita Faria in 1966.

Shubhangi Swaroop from Uttar Pradesh became the first woman to get pilot role in the Indian Navy. The announcement was done in passing out parade at Ezhimala Naval Academy in Kerala. Three other women officers were also inducted. Astha Sehgal from delhi, Roopa A from Puducheri and Sakti Maya S became first women to be ever become officers at the Naval Armament Inspectorate.

Karen Pierce was appointed as Britain's Ambassador to the United nations with effect from January 2018. She is now first woman to be appointed on this role.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi flags off first Hyderabad Metro Train with Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. Metro will be open for public from 29 November 2017. This is the first phase of Hyderabad Metro which is 30 kilometer long having 24 stations between Miyapur and Nagole.

Telecom regulator TRAI has said Internet Service Providers should bound themselves in following the core principals of Net Neutrality.

Prime Minister Modi along with Ivanka Trump( daughter of Donald Trump - American President) inaugurated the 3 days 8th Global Entrepreneurship Summit in Hyderabad. This summit is happening for the first time in India. Theme of the summit - "Women First, Prosperity for all".

Mirabai Chanu won gold medal at the World Weightlifting championship held in Anaheim USA. She lifted a new world record of 194Kg in woman's 48 kg category. She is the second Indian woman after Karnam Malleswari to win Gold medal in World Weightlifting championship.
